Ashley Garcia - Guitar

Ashley Garcia - Guitar

Ashley Garcia has been teaching guitar for over 8 years. She studied at Fresno City College under Dr. Kevin Cooper, learning several different guitar styles and techniques as well as music theory. Garcia has taught a wide range of students at different skill levels and ages, specializing with the young learners. She prioritizes the proper techniques as well the theory behind the music. "I take an individualized approach with each student so their lesson is tailored to them."

Blake McAllister - Woodwinds

Blake McAllister - Woodwinds

Blake McAllister grew up in Fresno, California, and has been playing saxophone for 11 years. He went to Bullard High School and played in Wind Ensemble and the Jazz Band for all four years. Blake plays saxophone, flute, clarinet, and bassoon. He currently studies saxophone at Fresno State under Dr. Alan Durst and studied bassoon for 2 years at Fresno State under Larry Gardner. At Fresno State, Blake is a a member of the Bulldog Beat, Jazz Orchestra, and Marching Band. He plays saxophone in all three ensembles and is the head section leader of the BMB saxophone section. Blake has played bassoon in the Fresno State Wind Orchestra for 2 of his years at Fresno State. Currently, Blake is a Jazz Studies major at Fresno State and studies under the legendary Jazz bassist, Richard Lloyd Giddens Jr.

Carissa Hall - Violin/Voice

Carissa Hall - Violin/Voice

Carissa Hall teaches voice and violin. She is a classically trained vocalist in both classical and Broadway styles. Hall is a graduate of Fresno City College, holding an Associate’s degree in Vocal Music and currently attends Fresno State. She has been playing the violin/fiddle for 14 years, focusing on American fiddle styles, and branching into Celtic music and classical violin. Hall plays locally in the Fresno City College String Ensemble, as well as for the Irish dance group “Celtic Motion”.

Ernest Martinez - Percussion/Piano/Guitar

Ernest Martinez - Percussion/Piano/Guitar

Ernest Martinez, born and raised in Fresno California, grew up in a music loving household. At 10-years-old, he was not only allowed, but encouraged to start studying drums and percussion. At the age of 16 he joined the local professional scene with his parents. By age 18, Martinez started performing with the Latin Rock Band Malo, while also attending college, learning guitar and piano. Martinez has played concert and latin percussion, as well as drum set in pop, rock, jazz, funk, latin, and more. In addition, he has studied under such greats as Joseph Lizama, drummer for the Dave Matthews band, Brian Hamada, former percussionist of the Jazz Composer's Orchestra, and many more.

Hannah Sutherland - Piano

Hannah Sutherland - Piano

Hannah Sutherland has been playing piano for over 15 years. She began teaching piano at Patrick’s Music in July of 2018. Sutherland loves teaching beginners of all ages, helping them develop their own musical tastes and styles while learning fundamentals. Her favorite forms of piano music to teach are beginning to early intermediate classical, improvisational pop, and basics of jazz and ragtime. Hannah is trained in Celtic folk music, which makes extensive use of ear training and unusual rhythms and time signatures. She is the director of the Celtic Motion Ceili Band.

Isaac Lopez -Violin

Isaac Lopez is currently attending Fresno City College, studying Music Education with an emphasis on violin. He is currently apart of the Fresno City College Symphony under the direction of Elisha Wells, where he has served as Principal Second.  He is also apart of the Hopeful String Quartet which is affiliated with the nonprofit, A Hopeful Encounter. Throughout high school, Isaac was involved in multiple ensembles ranging from the REC Chamber Orchestra, Violin/Viola Festival Ensembles, Youth Orchestras or Fresno, FMCMEA Honor Orchestras, ASTA Chamber Ensembles, Independent High School Chamber Orchestra, etc. Driven by passion and purpose, he aspires to hopefully be teaching in schools in the valley and sharing his passion through music post college.

Jack Landseadel - Brass

Jack Landseadel is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Fresno, California. He began trombone at age 11 and expanded his playing to bass trombone, euphonium, tuba, trumpet, and french horn throughout his academic career. Landseadel also sang in high school and with the Fresno City College City Singers as a bass. Additionally, he began writing arrangements for his high school marching band as well as original compositions at age 14 and has had arrangements featured in Fresno City College Wind Ensemble performances. Landseadel has an Associates Degree from Fresno City College in music, as well as Certificates in Music Theory, Jazz Performance, and Brass Performance.

Marilyn George - Cello/Piano

Marilyn George - Cello/Piano

For the past five decades, Marilyn George Has been teaching the members of the orchestral string family. She received her Bachelors in Arts from the University of Minnesota, as well as her Masters of Arts from Bob Jones University shorty after. Not only that, but George has been certified by the Suzuki Association of America. She is responsible for founding multiple music initiatives in Tulsa (OK), Gilroy (CA), Salt Lake City (UT), and more. George has also taught at such institutions as the USD, UNC, Earlham College in Indiana, and beyond. She current is performing with the Reedley Community Orchestra on cello.

Sheldon Schlesinger - Upright Bass/Guitar/Piano

Sheldon Schlesinger - Upright Bass/Guitar/Piano

Sheldon Schlesinger grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and performed in the California Youth Symphony on string bass. He studied piano throughout his school days and in junior high began playing the double bass. Schlesinger Graduated from UC Santa Barbara, double majoring in History and Music, and performed with the Santa Barbara Symphony. After receiving his bachelor’s degree and teaching credential, he taught in Bakersfield while also playing in their local symphony orchestra. Schlesinger then moved to Fresno, and taught in Fresno Unified for 37 years, 33 of which were at Hoover High School head the band, orchestra, and guitar programs. Since retiring, he continues to play with the Fresno Philharmonic and teach here at Patrick’s Music.
