Elona began taking piano lessons at age 7 and has spent many years performing, teaching, and enjoying music. She received the distinguished High School Diploma from the National Guild of Piano Teachers at 17, performed a ten piece memorized program each school year from age 7 to age 17 and was graded on her performance by a jury of piano teachers from the Guild. At the college level, Elona studied music at Wheaton Conservatory in Wheaton, Illinois and Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. Elona has been accompanying church services and other groups since she was 15 and has performed in many different venues. She loves teaching all ages, beginners through advanced, as well as a variety of music from classical to popular and includes music theory as part of her curriculum.
Kevin Person, Jr.
Kevin Person, Jr. is a pianist and saxophonist from Fresno, California. He began taking piano lessons at the age of 8 but did not truly become passionate about the instrument until he stumbled across jazz and gospel. Through his lessons he began to perform regularly at his father’s church, Praise Church of God in Christ. After graduating from Buchanan High School, Person perused a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance from Fresno State University, where he was a member of various jazz groups. During his time in university, he studied under Andreas Werz, Mike Dana, Richard Giddons, and Craig VonBerg.
Hannah Anderson has been playing piano for over 15 years. She began teaching piano at Patrick’s Music in July of 2018. Hannah loves teaching beginners of all ages and helping them develop their own musical tastes and styles while learning theory and technique. Her favorite forms of piano music to teach are beginning to early intermediate classical, improvisational pop, and basics of jazz and ragtime. Hannah is trained in Celtic folk music, which makes extensive use of ear training and unusual rhythms and time signatures. She is the director of the Celtic Motion Ceili Band.
Joshua Bravo is a multi-instrumentalist and a student in the Voice Studio at Fresno State University. He is an active solo vocalist and member of the the local band The National Debt, just finishing a national tour. Bravo has performed in the Fresno City College City Singer, performing in New York at Carnegie Hall, as well as touring internationally in Europe with them. Studying under Rebecca Sarkisian, Hanna York, and opera baritone Igor Vieire for voice, as well as Dr. Brandon Bascom for Piano, and Rick Del Carlo on accordion, Bravo is also an accomplished guitarist, bassist, and ukulelist.
Ernest Martinez is a percussionist and multi-instrumentalist from Fresno, California. He was fortunate enough to grow up in a musical household, as his father and his father’s close friends were all musicians. Martinez developed an early love for the drums and percussion, leading to an affinity to the rhythm section as a whole. Although he has specialized as a percussionist, studying under Joe Lizama, drummer for the Dave Matthews Band, George Ramirez, and Regina Jimenez, Martinez has developed proficient technical skill on bass, guitar, and piano, studying under Mike Dana, Larry Honda, and Dr. Brandon Bascom. When not teaching, Martinez has been known to play with Malo, a latin rock band based out of San Fransisco.
