Elizabeth Chan has been playing flute for 15 years, and piccolo for 5 years. She first studied with Larry Honda, retired Fresno City College professor. Currently, she studies privately with Jan Erickson, principal flute of the Fresno Philharmonic. Elizabeth is a talented musician in flute instruction for any level. She is also knowledgeable of woodwind instruments and general music theory. Over the years, Elizabeth has performed with several ensembles throughout the Fresno area, including the Fresno City College Woodwind Choir, Fresno City Wind Ensemble, Fresno Community Orchestra, Northern Community College Honor Band, Fresno State Symphonic Band, Fresno State Flute Ensemble, Fresno State Marching Band, Fresno State Basketball Band, Fresno Pacific Symphonic Band, Kingsburg Summer Band, Community Flute Choir and various small groups. Elizabeth has also performed throughout the United States such as Nevada, Idaho, and Colorado playing tenor saxophone. In November 2018, Elizabeth traveled to Seattle, Washington to perform with the Fresno Pacific Symphonic Band for the Western International Band Clinic.
Joseph Bermudez – Flute/Clarinet/Saxophone:
Joseph has played the saxophone since the age of 9, and earned his BA in Music Education at CSU Fresno in 2015. In high school he was a part of FMCMEA honor band and Kingsburg High’s Wind Ensemble and Jazz band. At Fresno City College he was again a member of the Wind Ensemble and Jazz band, in addition to being named first chair saxophone of NCCCHB. When he enrolled at Fresno State, Joseph was named principal clarinet in Symphonic Band, as well as playing saxophone and principal bass clarinet in Wind Orchestra. The styles in which he specializes are classical and jazz.
