Alexandra Ruiz – Cello:
Alexandra has been playing music since the age of 9 and began playing the cello at age 12. She played in both the San Diego Honor Orchestra and Youth Philharmonic. She is currently working to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Instrumental Performance and is in her fifth year studying under Dr. Thomas Loewenheim at CSU-Fresno. Alex has been teaching at Patrick’s for almost 2 years.
Angeles Rosillo – Violin/Viola:
Angeles attended Roosevelt School of the Arts in which she performed with the Advanced Orchestra and Mariachi Band, as well as participated in piano classes. At CSU Fresno, she played violin for the Symphony Orchestra and Mariachi. Currently, Angeles works the Accent on Access Violin program at Edison Bethune, teaching students ranging from grades two through six. In her free time, Angeles performs with a local mariachi band.
Brandon Juarez: – Violin/Viola:
Brandon has been playing the violin for over 10 years, having taken private lessons with professional music teachers since elementary school. He has performed in many concerts with both string and band musicians and was accepted as a Chamber Orchestra member in his senior year at Clovis West High School, finishing the year as a First Violinist, Second Chair. Brandon has also performed a Quartet alongside 1st Violinist, 1 Cellist and 1st Violist playing an 8 minute piece, “String Quartet No. 2 In D major: 1.” by Alexander Borodin. He enjoys improving his skills as both a performer and a teacher, and sharing what he has learned with new students.
Derek Stewart – Violin/Viola:
Derek is currently in his 5th year at Fresno State University working towards his BA in Viola Performance and plays Viola in the Fresno State Symphony Orchestra. He has also
played in the Fresno City orchestra, YOOF (Youth Orchestra of Fresno), along with various chamber music groups in the Fresno/Clovis area. He has been studying Viola/Violin for 13 years and taken lesson under Saskia Dyer, David Shearen and is currently taking lessons with Dr. Limor Toren-Immerman at Fresno State. Currently he teaches both Viola and Violin. He has participated in multiple music festivals including InterHarmony International Music Festival in Italy, Music in the Mountains Conservatory in Colorado, and FOOSA (Fresno Opera and Orchesta Summer Academy). He has participated in master classes with Rachel Barton-Pine, Meidad Yehudayan, and Misha Galaganov.
Devinda has been studying violin and viola for 20 years with various instructors in CA. He has also attended several summer training institutes for chamber and orchestra performance. Devinda is currently principal violist in the Fresno State orchestra. He teaches violin and viola.
Esther has been playing violin and piano for over 13 years. Her primary instrument is violin and she has studied under Limor Toren-Immerman, Shoanie Young, and Tim Johnson. Esther holds a Master of Arts degree in Music Performance from Fresno State with an emphasis in violin. She also studied piano in the Bachelor’s program at Fresno State and has over 7 years of experience teaching both piano and violin to children and adults. Esther teaches primarily from a classical perspective but also makes adjustments to curriculum based on each student’s individual needs.
